Residents in the Cyr and Tarkio area near Alberton had been experiencing several power outages last weekend and early into the curerent week.
Representatives with Missoula Electric Cooperatives reported a faulty underground cable was the cause for the disruptions.
Spokesperson Kelsey Lodge said the cable was initially installed in the late 1970s and was old and in need of replacement. Crews were in the area on Jan. 24 to replace the aging cable.
Once completed, they do not anticipate any further power disruptions.
