4-H members set Montana Symbol of Excellence record for hogs
Two Mineral County 4-H members set a new record by becoming state champions in The Montana Symbol of Excellence (SOE) program. Superior students, 13-year-old, Decker Milender and Heather Haskins, 11, won the Montana State University Montana Symbol of Excellence for their commitment to excellence in producing quality pork products. Their 2018, 4-H projects won with Milender winning for the “light carcass division” youth hog and Haskins winning in the “heavy carcass division.”

First half of fundraiser a success
In an effort to raise money and a little Christmas cheer, Plains-Hot Springs wrestlers are helping locals decorate their homes for the holidays by selling Christmas trees.
Lady Bobcats end week with a win
The Superior girls lost one game last week against Loyola and won a game against Alberton. On Tuesday night, the girls fell to Loyola, 14-60. On Thursday, they battled county rival Alberton in an away game and won, 76-43.

'Cats come close

Retired fire truck finds new home
It can be hard to determine the value of a used fire truck. With their use being much more than a normal vehicle, fire trucks typically can lose half of their monetary value within the first five to seven years of use according to an article found on Fire Trucks Plus Web site. However, it might be even harder to determine the value of one "retired" fire truck from the fleet of Superior's volunteer fire department.
Red Devils best Heat
In their first matchup this season, the Red Devils left Hot Springs smoldering as they ran away with a 53-30 win over the hometown Savage Heat on Friday night.
Wrestlers ready for divisionals
Local wrestlers earned the respect of fans and their opponents last weekend as 16 athletes from Sanders County earned medals at the Darby Invitational. This was the final tournament before all three county teams will wrestle in the divisional tournament this Saturday in Arlee.
