Bogging through the mud
Brothers Alan and Kevin Zufall race each other Sunday afternoon during the 2nd annual Montana Mudfest. Kevin beat his brother Alan in the super modified race.
Mudfest returns to Haugan
Mud-coated enthusiasts in souped-up trucks revved their engines and drag raced all weekend during the 2nd annual Montana Mudfest. From Friday night to Sunday afternoon, nearly 800 people gathered in Haugan to participate and watch the mud-based fun. Some people found themselves covered from head to toe in mud from drag racing or joining in the other fun and games.
St. Regis public school
St. Regis public school stays open through out the summer. The recent school levy will go towards maintaining the upkeep of the school.
St. Regis school levy narrowly passes
St. Regis residents submitted their votes Tuesday for the general fund school levy. The $36,201,95 levy passed by a slim 75-71 margin.

Superior falls in tournament title game
The Superior Lady Cats traveled to Ronan Friday to compete in the Mission Valley Tournament. After winning the first four games of the tournament, Superior fell to Flathead 36- 29 in the championship game and suffered their first loss of the summer league season. Kaitlynn Koke led the Lady Cats with 9 points in the championship loss.

Mineral County has been spared this year from any real big flooding said Missoula National Weather Service hydrologist Ray Nicolas.

4-H shooters prepare for national competitions
Mackenzie “Spud” Crabb, Aidan Patko and Luke Boyce stood together with their eyes quietly focused through the scopes on their air rifles. The three members of the Mineral County 4-H Shooting Sports team practiced together Saturday afternoon in the 4-H building in Superior. The boys stayed so silent they could hear a pin drop or more accurately a pellet hit a paper target.

Farmers market starts in Superior
Mineral County vendors set up tables by the Old School in Superior Saturday morning and kicked off the third year of the Superior Farmers Market. A total of six vendors sold locally made goods from 9 a.m. to noon.

Few floods in Mineral County
In counties all over Montana, the flooding rivers have caused residents to roll up their pant legs, canoe to work, or even evacuate their homes. Mineral County has, so far, avoided those frustrations this flood season. Although the river shores in Mineral County are drier than other counties in the state, a few problem areas have sprung up last week.
Car Show revs into Superior
Classic cars lined the lawn outside the old school house in Superior Saturday afternoon. Oldies music played and pictures were taken as car enthusiasts joined together for the 12th annual Old School House Rock Car Show.
Superior football prepares for next season
Before the Superior High School football players dismissed for summer vacation, head coach Dan Lucier wanted to bring the team together. For three days last week, the team gathered in the afternoons on the football field or in a classroom to go over plays. Coach Lucier said the goal of the three-day camp was to have fun and get better.
