Dec. 12, 1957: Day Robbery From Home—Cecil Russell reported the loss of considerable western gear from his Iron Mountain home, south of Superior, on Wednesday.

The items were missed, he said, when he returned home from work that evening. The loot consisted of a saddle with his initials—CHR, a saddle blanket, bridle, aluminum bit, a revolver and box of cartridges, hoster and belt, hunting knife, an old Merlin Huber handgun with a four-inch barrel dated June 27, 1885, smoking tobacco and other items. The sheriff is investigating.

Leib Ranch Sold to Jones—The old Leib ranch east of Superior, midway between the town and Diamond Match mill, has been sold to the Al Jones Log Trucking Company. Jones bought the property at a sale in district court Monday.

The ranch consists of 145 acres of land with a large two-story house and farm buildings. The holdings have been in the Leib family for many years. Following the death of Ray Leib a year ago, his heirs decided to settle the estate by selling their half interest.

The other half was held by brother Carl. He decided to sell his half to the purchaser of Ray's half for the same amount. The total sale amount was $7,000.

The couple left for Missoula for a brief honeymoon then returned to Superior where the new Mrs. Gloshen is an elementary school teacher.
