Fred Allen Pearson

Fred Allen Pearson, 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, in Billings, Mont. He was born April 25, 1921, in Casselton, N.D., to Fred O. and Marie Helland Pearson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.

He married Mary Emma Lancaster Oct. 25, 1957.

Together they raised four girls and seven boys. Fred enjoyed farming for many years.

He left the Thompson Falls area in 1960 for a 10-year period, returning in 1970 where he resided for many years. During the last few years, he spent in Billings, Mont.

Fred enjoyed hunting, guns, music and was an active member of the Assembly of God Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, one daughter, Kathy Helland, and one son, Allen Ovitt.

He is survived by daughters, Marilyn Bergman of Warroad, Minn., Lona Trochman of Thief River Falls, Minn., Winifred Welty of Plains, Mont., Susan Kanelfritz of West Fargo N.D.; sons, Rodney Ovitt of Bottineau, N.D., Gary, Douglas and Dennis Ovitt of Plains, Tim Ovitt of Kenosha, Wisc., Jay Ovitt of Faribault, Minn., Glen Pearson of Billings; a brother, Gene Pearson of Fargo, N.D. Services were held Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Assemble of God Church in Thompson Falls. Burial followed at the Thompson Falls Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Bunch-Toews Funeral Homes, Plains and Thompson Falls.
