Eve party planned at St. Regis

St. Regis Community Council will be hosting their annual family-friendly New Year's Eve bash December 31 at the Community Center starting at 6 p.m., according to Glenn R. Koepke.

The night will begin with a pot-luck and volunteers are asked to arrive early and to help with arrangements. There will be games, prizes, and entertainment available for the youth and young-at-heart adults. Local live music starting at 8 p.m. will be provided by Eagle's Nest Assisted Living Band playng a wide variety of favorites. Capping off the evening will be a fireworks display donated by local businesses and coordinated by the volunteer fire department. The display will occur at approximately 10 p.m. so that folks can get home at a reasonable time to be with their families and ring in the New Year. All minors must be accompanied by an adult for the evening.

There is no charge and everyone is invited. For more information contact any of the council board members: John Cheesman, Vicki Carrott, Eileen Wollf, Rosalie Dimpel, or Glenn Koepke.

In other news, this year's winners have been chosen for the annual St. Regis holiday home decorating contest. Taking first place as a first-time entrant is the Howard Martin residence, followed in second place by Duane Simons. Third place goes to perennial candidate and past winner Frank Smith. Cash prizes will be announced during the evening of the New Year's Eve Party and winners do not need to be present to collect.
