Luella P. Oelschlager

Luella P. Oelschlager, 88, of Nevis, Minn., died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, Minn.

Luella was born Oct. 23, 1919, to Edward and Dena (Bussman) Bliss in Akeley, Minn. She lived in Akeley and as a young child moved to the Hubbard Prairie until she was married. She attended Crow Wing Township School.

She was united in marriage to Clarence H. Oelschlager April 30, 1941, at Badoura Lutheran Church in rural Akeley, Minn. Clarence and Luella moved to Badoura and farmed. She worked at the old Park Rapids Hospital as a night nurse, at Badoura Nursery for 35 years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include her four children: Irene (Roy) Disselbrett of Hatton, North Dakota; Charles (Janet) Oelschlager of Plains, Mont.; Audrey Iverson of Nevis, Minn., and Dorthy (Dick) Eldridge of Garrison, Iowa. She has nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by brother; Ed (Ramona) Bliss and Fred (Elveda) Bliss, sisters; Dena DeVore, Mae Graunke, Myrt (Bill) Jehoich, Ruth Kyllonen and Dorothy (Philip) Pohl and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband Clarence, parents Ed and Dena Bliss, grandsons Mark E. Eldridge and Timothy Oelschlager, sisters; Marie, Rose, Margaret and brother Bill.
