Robert Curtis Paulsen
Missoula-Bob passed away suddenly at his cabin near Trout Creek on April 19th 2008.
Bob was born on October 25, 1931 to Laurides and Georgiana Paulsen in Hamilton. He attended schools in Hamilton and joined the Air Force in 1947. He served in Korea, then returned to Great Falls and was employed as a jet mechanic for the Air Guard. He was honorably discharged at the rank of staff sergeant. Bob met Doris Rucks and they were married Dec. 31, 1954. They returned to the Missoula area and Bob worked for the Anaconda Co. and Champion Timberland as a millwright for 40 years. They resided in Piltzville all those years. Upon retirement Bob and Doris spent a great deal of their time at their beautiful home near Trout Creek. They also spent countless hours, and drove thousand of miles watching their grandchildren in their athletic endeavors.
Bob was also an active member in the Missoula Rural Fire Dept. until his retirement, in 1994. He also served in the National Guard for 20 years.
Bob is survived by his wife Doris and his three children, Rick (Donna) Paulsen of Stevensville, Sue (Keith) Ori of Kalispell and Robin Spurlock of Missoula. His pride and joy were his grandchildren; Kirk, Beau, Eric, and Kyla Paulsen. Kellen, Alena and Briana Ori and Kelsey and Courtney Salmela and Rebecca and Jon Spurlock. He is also survived by his sister Karen Landis of Libby. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry Paulsen and his granddaughter Marissa Ori. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bonner at. A reception followed at the church. A graveside was held at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. Charitable donations can be made to the Missoula Rural Fire Dept. or Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bonner. Cremation has taken place and Bob will be remembered best for his love of life, his pride and love for his kids and grandkids and his friendships with so many.
