Obituary: Linda J. Toomey

SUPERIOR — Linda Jean Toomey, 61, of Superior, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Mineral Community Hospital of natural causes.

She was born September 21, 1947 in Wallace, Idaho to Larry and Mary Lou Witham. Her family then moved to Superior where she was raised.

On August 1, 1970, Linda married Butch Toomey in a small ceremony at the home of Dan and Betty Toomey. The couple lived in Superior until the present time where they raised two daughters.

Linda was a warm, nurturing woman who enjoyed crocheting lovely garments for her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Linda enjoyed cruising around her hometown with the car’s top down, or just sitting down for coffee with friends and family. At her home-based daycare/preschool, Linda provided care to: Madelynn, Hunter, Carson, Emma, and Anika, all of whom she loved with all her heart.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Witham and her grandson, Ric Schwartzman.

Survivors include her husband, Butch, Superior; two daughters, Lisa Schwartzman, Missoula and Angie Hopwood, Superior; father, Larry Witham, Superior, a brother, Del Witham, Helena; grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley, Emma and Anika; and a great-granddaughter, Makenna.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Superior High School Multi-Purpose Room, with the Rev. Ken Claflin officiating.
