The Thompson Falls Bluehawks emerged from weekend play with a win and a loss, and are now 5-3 en route to a clash with the Trotters Friday.

The Bluehawks traveled to Charlo Friday to take on the woeful Vikings, and came away with a lopsided 74-50 win. The loss dropped Charlo to 0-7.

Guard Brian Schenavar led the Thompson Falls offensive charge with 14 points, three assists and a pair of offensive rebounds. Sophomore guard Dillon Gerstenberger and Brandon Damaskos, a 6-foot, 1-inch forward, each posted 13 points. Damaskos powered to six rebounds. Power forward Dallas VonHeeder, a junior, led the Hawks with 14 boards, tacking on seven points and three assists. Rounding out Thompson Falls' top scorers were John Buckingham with nine points and Erik Gilbert, who tallied eight points for the night.

The Hawks encountered stiffer competition Saturday on the road against Whitefish, a class A school. The Hawks coughed up 27 turnovers to five from Whitefish, and lights-out shooting propelled the Bulldogs to an 87-66 victory.

Schenavar again topped the Hawks' scoring list, sinking two three-pointers and hitting six of 12 field goal attempts for 14 points. VonHeeder pulled down six rebounds and posted 11 points, and Gerstenberger put up six rebounds and 10 points to join Schenavar and VonHeeder in double-digit scoring. Damaskos added nine points for the Hawks, and Nathan Nigh had an eight-point outing.
