The Mineral County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament made its comeback Saturday at the Trestle Creek Golf Course in St. Regis with sunny weather and teams from all over Mineral County.

Tournament organizer Mary Jo Berry said that the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament has been on a four-year hiatus, but the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce decided to bring it back this year to raise some money.

“We’re planning on doing it next year and I bet it’ll become an annual thing,” Berry said.

There were 13 teams in the tournament, each of which paid a $180 entry fee.

On each hole the teams played the best shot of their foursome, and the team had one score at the end of the tournament.

Berry said that they also offered the teams the opportunity to buy two mulligans per person for $5 a piece. Those who bought a mulligan were entered into a drawing for a golf bag donated by Summit Beverage.

All told Berry said they probably made around $2,500. There was food, soda and beer provided for the golfers as part of their entry fee that was donated by Trestle Creek Golf Course.

Berry said they had 16 sponsors for the evernt that provided money and prizes for the golfers.

The first place team was from Montana Central Agency from Missoula and Superior. The team included Brad Porch, Rob Porch, Bryan Porch, and Bob Porch. They won automatic entry into the 2009 tournament a plaque that will be displayed at Trestle Creek Golf Course and four Mineral County Chamber of Commerce Golf Hats donated by Iron Mountain Graphics.
