Corvallis - Marlene (Clark) Johnson, 73

Corvallis - Marlene (Clark) Johnson, 73, of Corvallis passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at home with her husband Myron by her side after a battle with cancer. She was delivered by her Grandma Haley on July 12, 1934 in Stevensville the daughter of Clayton Boone and Helen Mabel (Haley) Jenkins.

Marlene attended grade school in Corvallis up to the 6th grade. She then attended junior high and high school in Darby. Marlene married Jim Clark in 1951 and they had three children. She worked in the restaurant business for many years. Marlene married Myron Johnson on March 19, 1971 and together they owned and operated two restaurants where she was a waitress and cook.

Marlene was well known for selling cut flowers at the farmer's market in Hamilton and Missoula. She was also an avid gardener and floral designer, where she won many awards for Best of Show at county and regional fairs.

Marlene was caring and generous in spirit to all. Everyone who knew her liked her kind ways. She will be sorely missed. Marlene was the "Big Sister" to her siblings as they grew up.

Marlene was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Boone Jenkins; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her husband, Myron Dale Johnson of the family home in Corvallis; her mother, Helen Jenkins of Hamilton; three children, Carol J. Samford (Ron) of West Jordan, Utah, Gary W. Clark (Steven Hesla) of Missoula, and Randy J. Clark of Corvallis; one sister, Barbara Kline of Hamilton; two brothers, James Jenkins (Louise) of Darby and Don Jenkins (Bonnie) of Prescott, Ariz.; five grandchildren, LuDon Tarter (Kelly) of Boise, Idaho, Travis Quinn (Maci) of Boise, Idaho, Kyla Dahl (Dave) of Hamilton, Jamie Samford of West Jordan, Utah and Keesha Clark of Pocatello, Idaho; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Garrett, Destiny, Danica and Dylan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Daly-Leach Chapel with Pastor Larry Belknap officiating. Burial will take place following the service at the Corvallis Cemetery with a reception following at the Seventh Day Adventist Church (117 Westbridge Road) in Hamilton. Pallbearers will be Travis Quinn, Kelly Tarter, Tim Hollar, Dan Hollar, Lee Kline and Jim Dundas.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Marlene's name to Guardian Angels, 2835 Fort Missoula Rd, Suite 301, Missoula, MT 59804. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel.
