| July 16, 2008 12:00 AM

Murrill L. McNeil, 63, of Plains passed way June 28, 2008 in Missoula, MT.

Murrill was born in Sandpoint, ID January 15, 1945 to Murrill and Laurayne "Toddy" McNeil. He attended grade school in Paradise and graduated from Plains High School. He attended Flathead Community College before entering the U.S. Army where he retired after 22 years of service. He volunteered for Viet Nam but his older brother Gary was serving in Viet Nam at that time and he was not permitted to go.

Murrill loved the outdoors where he could be with Mother Nature. He loved walking the riverbanks and collecting driftwood and hiking in the mountains. He missed not being able to sing in the Community Choir after his diagnosis, but he always enjoyed the hymns being sung. Murrill has been noted all his life for his kindness and gentleness toward others and his undying love for his God and Country. Murrill will be missed by his loving family and many friends.

He never met his Father who was killed in action in Cebu Island, Philippines in WWII, but what a glorious union in Heaven for both of them!

He is survived by his mother, "Toddy" Silverthorn, Plains; two brothers, Gary McNeil (Jeri), Sneads Ferry. N.C.; Bill Silverthorn (Debbie), Plains; niece, Shela Raymond and children Shania and Chris Raymond, Plains; nephew, Shawn McNeil, Phoenix, AZ.
