An ATV wreck on Fish Trap Creek Road north of Plains Thursday afternoon left one woman dead.

Michelle Felix, 20, of Plains was killed almost instantly from the injuries she sustained from the accident.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Shawn Smalley responded to the accident and said it occurred about 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

"There were two females riding on separate four wheelers," he said. "They came around a corner and one girl went off the road and rolled over." Smalley added that the victim was not wearing a helmet.

The other four-wheeler was not involved in the accident. Felix was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both four-wheelers were on Fish Trap Creek Road when the accident occurred. Felix's four-wheeler went off the road and that is when it flipped on top of her.

Smalley said that the investigation into the accident is pretty much wrapped up, however they're still awaiting toxicology results.

"That's something we do on all fatal accidents," he said. "Other than the toxicology results, the rest of the investigation is pretty much completed."
