Ingraham endorsement

| October 15, 2008 12:00 AM

Sometimes choosing a candidate to vote for is not easy. Sometimes there is more than one veteran candidate in one political race. Your community has one of those races, long time Clerk and Recorder and incumbent Representative Pat Ingraham and termed out Senator Jim Elliott.

So how do you choose a candidate when the choice seems difficult? I have always looked at their past experience. I served in the House of Representatives with Pat Ingraham and I was impressed with her work in committees and her solid performance on the floor of the house.

I, like Pat, come from a background of local government. I served on our town council in Saco, as county commissioner in Phillips County and as mayor of the Town of Saco. I can tell you that the knowledge and experience you gain as a public servant in local government gives you a perspective in the legislature that is invaluable in your ability to serve your constituents. You notice and understand things that other legislator completely miss.

But most importantly, you never forget all the names and faces of all the friends you served. You remember who you are representing when you are in Helena. You never lose sight of the things that are important to your people because you are one of those people. You are not led astray and become consumed by the battle between political parties at the expense of your constituents.

You have the chance to re-elect such a candidate from your community…

Pat Ingraham!
