The Superior Lady Bobcats pulled off a strong win against the Noxon Lady Red Devils in a home game Friday evening.

“I’m really proud of the girls I think they really came together for this match,” said Lady Bobcats Head Coach Diane Woodard.

The Lady Bobcats started off the match slightly behind the Lady Red Devils, but they overcame a 10 – 9 deficit after an impressive dig from Lady Bobcat sophomore Kaylee Krabb. The Lady Bobcats then got into an impressive stride, keeping control of the ball and winning the match with an impressive 25 to 14 lead over the Lady Red Devils.

In the second game of the evening the Lady Bobcats started out neck and neck with the Lady Red Devils until they broke away and gained a 16 – 5 lead. The Lady Red Devils could not overcome the Lady Bobcats lead and the Lady Bobcats won the match 25 – 13.

In the third match the Lady Red Devils proved that they were still in the game, taking an early 16 – 8 lead over the Lady Bobcats. Despite some impressive comeback attempts the Lady Bobcats could not manage to regain their footing in the game and the Lady Red Devils won 25 – 18.

In the fourth match of the evening the Lady Bobcats took a 5 – 1 lead over the Lady Red Devils early on. However, the Lady Red Devils quickly caught up as the game continued. The Lady Bobcats managed to maintain a slight lead over the Lady Bobcats for much of the game, and finished the match out at a close 25 – 22.

“They were chatting it up and they were really in sync,” said Woodard.

The Lady Bobcats brought in an astounding 58 digs Friday night.

“That number right there speaks volumes,” Woodard said.

Senior Tara Bauer lead the team in kills, slapping in 6 of the team’s 24 kills.

“Our serves have improved which has helped us tremendously,” said Woodard.

Alex Conrow made an impressive 16 of the team’s 18 assists for the evening as well as leading the team in aces with 5 out of the team’s 20 aces. Tamara Rennick lead the team in blocks with 3 of the team’s 9 block in the match.

Woodard added that several of her younger players have really stepped up their game this season and helped out the team a great deal.

“My younger girls are doing great. Krabb comes in and without exception she serves strong for us every time, straight off the bench,” said Woodard. “I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s doing a phenomenal job.”
