Support Sue Cooperman & Jim Elliott

| October 29, 2008 12:00 AM

Dear Editor,

Over the past 20+ years of being in business I have had several bad checks issued to me.

Some would never had been collected without the help of Sue Cooperman.

I have really appreciated Sue Cooperman being available at the courthouse. If Sue didn’t know the answer to my question Sue took the time and effort to find the correct response and called back later.

Sue Cooperman is no nonsense, straight foreword, polite but firm and just. No, Sue is not my good friend I’m trying to help get elected, but more of a business acquaintance. Someone I respect, value and appreciate.

Sue would be for the people — out to help whoever needed help regardless of who they are or who they know.

Ethical and honest in a world that isn’t so…yes, if the good people of Sanders County vote Sue Cooperman in as Justice of the Peace our little part of the world would be better.

Jim Elliott really went to bat for us in 2007. Jim helped us plan how to make a law stating what a Wild Montana Huckleberry was and following through and actually getting it voted on by the Senators and Representatives at Helena. It passed because Jim cared what happened to us¬Ýhere at home,¬ÝJim took the time and effort and all his long time connections he had at Helena to encourage people to listen and understand — I heard some of the senators saying who can really tell the difference between huckleberries and blueberries and who really cares…Jim did and we helped Jim write the Wild Montana Huckleberry Law that did pass and is now in fact a 2007 Law in Montana. The problem with huckleberries has been a long on going item for many years — Jim Elliott and Paul Clark suggested making a law several years before it all came together. Paul Clark also put thought and effort behind the scenes for this law. I’d like to thank both of them for their efforts, it was much appreciated and greatly needed.

I tried to give Jim some jam as a thank you and he paid me for it — Jim said it was the law. Jim Elliott is working for us at home and if you have a problem Jim is the one to help you take care of it. Jim told me this was his job. I think this is more than a job for Jim, it’s his life…he loves Montana and takes a real personal pride in Sanders County. It’s a comfort knowing Jim is in Helena watching out for us. I’d like to encourage all of you to think about the benefits of voting for Jim Elliot, please remember he has shown over and over again¬Ýhe has us at heart.

No, Jim is not a personal friend and no he did not ask¬Ýus to write this letter. Sometimes the good deeds someone does never comes to light. I’d like you to know¬ÝJim¬Ýhas been there to help and¬Ýwe hope Jim is there to help in the future. We appreciate him greatly. Thanks Jim.

Sincerely,
