The Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat volleyball team continued their undefeated streak Thursday night in their game against the Superior Lady Bobcats.

The Lady Savage Heat (4-0) defeated the Lady Bobcats in three games, 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13.

While Hot Springs Head Coach Bonnie Franklin felt that her team improved from their last game against St. Regis, she still feels like they have quite a way to go.

“We improved from last game, but we cannot let our guard down,” she said.

She said that their serving was a big problem at the start of the match but it improved by the end.

“Our serving improved by the end of the game and that’s good,” she said.

The team had 26 digs, 19 assists, 22 aces, three blocks and 24 kills.

Jordon Fisher led the team in digs with eight, MacKenzie Wood had six aces and Matea DePoe had five. DePoe also had two blocks and Jocelyn Erchul had one. Fisher had eight kills and Devon White had six. Wood had 16 assists.

“Jocelyn served very strong,” Franklin said. “I was happy with her serving.”

Franklin said she was also really pleased with the pacing on the court.

“There was a lot of hustle on the court from our girls, especially with Jordon, she really stepped it up,” she said.

Franklin said that the Lady Savage Heat still have a lot to work on. “We need to work on a lot of coverage and work on starting out strong,” she said.

She said that all teams are going to be improving and that it is important that they don’t get sloppy or lazy in their play because everyone they play is going to be getting better and better.

“We need to stay one step ahead of everyone else,” she said.

Hot Springs will take on Two Eagle tomorrow at Two Eagle. They will also be playing at the Mineral County Tournament in St. Regis this Saturday, a tournament which Franklin said she and the girls are very excited about.

“The tournament should be a lot of fun,” she said. “We’re really looking forward to it.”
