Plains, Thompson Falls split Plains Jr. High Invitational

The Plains Jr. High Boys’ track team swapped first places with the Thompson Falls team during the Plains Junior High Invitational on April 3.

In Boys A Thompson Falls beat Plains, 201 points to 123 points to capture first place. However, the Plains boys B team was able to avenge their counterparts winning first place over the Bluehawks 187 points to 67.

In Boys A, Kolby Chisholm from Plains wom two events, winning the 100 M Dash and the 110 M Hurdles. Also from Plains, James Rulison won the 200 M Dash, while Dominique Holt, Austin Pullan and Cody Fields from T-Falls won the 400 M Dash, 1600 M Run and 200 M Hurdles respectively. Plains and T-Falls split the relay events with Plains winning the 400 M Relay T-Falls winning the 1600 M Relay. Johnny Carter from Trout Creek finished out the track events by winning the 800 M Run.

In the field Johnny Carter from Trout Creek and Brandon Piazzola from Noxon both won two events. Carter showed his strength winning the Discuss and Turbo Javelin, and Piazzola showed his athleticism winning the Long Jump and Triple Jump. Jeremiah Crawford from Plains won the Shot Put with a throw of 40 feet and three and a half inches. And, Dominique Holt from T-Falls won the High Jump with a height of five feet and five inches.

In Boys B, Plains wom five track events out of nine. James Rulison, Kaleb Beech and Walker Lamb won the 100, 200 and 400 M Dashes respectively. Lamb and Beech also helped the boys team win the 400 M Relay with a time of one minute and one second. Tanner Starkey rounded out the Plains wins by crossing the finish line first in 1600 M Run.

Wyatt Clay from T-Falls won the 800 M Run and the Bluehawks also won the 1600 M Relay. Abram French from Paradise won both the 110 and 200 M Hurdles.

In the field French again came away with two first place medals winning the Discuss and the High Jump. James Rullison from Plains won the Long Jump. And, two teammates from Noxon, Oliver Grupenhoff and Caleb Flickas won the Shot Put and Turbo Javelin respectively.
