A 36-year-old woman with Alberton license plates died when her 1996 Isuzu Trooper turned over Wednesday on Albert Creek Loop Road, according to the Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Scott Hoffman.
Aimee Dobbins, whose driver’s license had a Missoula address, drove her vehicle over a steep embankment about six miles from Southside Road in the Petty Creek area and was ejected from her vehicle during the rollover. The SUV turned over approximately three times, Hoffman said, before it landed on Dobbins.
Some passersby found Dobbins’ body while they were picking huckleberries. Hoffman was not sure where Dobbins was traveling from or heading to. He said the incident report does not indicate any other passengers in the vehicle. Dobbins was dead when highway patrol arrived at the accident site, the sergeant said.
Hoffman said his team received notice of the accident at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, but he was not sure when the accident actually occurred. Officials are investigating the possibility of drugs and alcohol involved in the crash, Hoffman said.
“At this point it looks like for whatever reason she didn’t negotiate the curve as she was supposed to,” Hoffman said.
