The Plains Trotters just couldn’t find a way to move ahead in their District 7-B contest agains the Eureka Lady Lions Saturday evening.

The game, in front of a large home crowd, was never close even as the Trotters tried to make a run in the final quarter, however it was just too little too late.

Eureka came out and made quick work taking a 15-8 lead after the first quarter. The Trotters were able to come out on top, 9-8, in the second quarter, however Eureka still took a 23-17 lead at the half. In the third quarter Eureka doubled Plains’ points scoring 10 while the Trotters were held to just five. In the fourth quarter Plains had their first double-digit scoring quarter with 12 points, but the Lady Lions were still able to come out on top with 16 points, bringing the final score to 49-34.

With the loss, the Trotters moved to 1-6 in District 7-B play and 3-12 overall.

Emma Ehret was the lead scorer for the Trotters with 13 points and her teammate Heather Earhart was close behind with 11. Alexis Kunzer and Lacey Hermiston each scored four point and Cassie Ross had two.

The Trotters next take on Thompson Falls at home this Thursday evening in what will be their final home contest of the year.
