Jeanne M. DeGange

Jeanne Marie DeGange of Superior died Tuesday June 16, 2009 at Mineral Community Hospital.

She was born December 29, 1934 in New London, Conn. to John J. and Mary (Crofoot) DeGange.

She was a graduate of New London High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Connecticut College and a master’s degree in library science from Syracuse University.

She was a graduate of the U.S. School of Professional Paperhanging in Rutland, Vermont, and spent several years self-employed as a contractor in the Mystic, Conn. area.

She later worked as an editor at the Bureau of Business Practice in Waterford, Conn.

She leaves a daughter, Suzanne Cattanach and grandson, Lee Cattanach, of New London and Superior; a brother Jack DeGange of Lebanon, N.H.; a niece and a nephew; two grand-nieces and several cousins.

She was predeceased by a daughter Mary Jeanne Cattanach Dewey.

She also leaves many dear friends including Esther Best and Frank and Madelyn Faller of Superior and Susan DameGreene of Salem, Mass.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Mineral Community Hospital for the skilled and compassionate care provided to Jeanne.

There are no calling hours.

Cremation will be followed by a private burial at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic, Conn.
