Lewis Forry
Family, Friends and Fun… These are the cornerstones of how Lewis Laverne Forry lived his life.
He was always with a twinkle in his eye, a contagious smile ready with unconditional love to everyone he met, quick witted and he made the best of any situation.
Lewis was born along with his twin brother, Charles, in Superior, MT on October 14, 1940 to Cready Lewis Forry and Eva Syble Porter.
Lewis graduated from Superior High School in 1959 then joined the US Air Force in April 1960 and served actively until 1965, then joined the Reserves where he served for 20 more years.
Lewis was proud to be a military man. He faithfully served his country and passionately supported all who serve.
Lewis used his Air Force training to establish a 40+ year career in telecommunications.
He excelled at every company he worked for and established relationships that continued on into his retirement.
Over the years, Lewis has traveled and lived in many exciting place in his life but always referred to Montana as God’s Country and returned there often to spend time with his classmates of Superior High School Class of 1958 and 1959.
His classmates were like family and they continued to make memories together through frequent reunions and special trips.
June 5, 1965 Lewis married Patricia Faye Kuntz and they had three children, Penny Irene, Steven Lewis, and Lisa Marie.
Lewis treasured his children and inspired them to live life optimistically and to the fullest just like their Dad.
Then on May 5, 2008 Lewis met the love of his life, Judy Platt-Forry. They instantly fell in love and quickly filled up one year with 30 years of memories.
Lewis Laverne Forry, 68, left this world peacefully surrounded by those he loved listening to Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love) on May 18, 2009 at 2:45 p.m. after a short and intense battle with soft-tissue sarcoma cancer.
Proceeded in death by his father, mother, and brother Ervin Forry. He is survived by his wife Judy Platt-Forry; Sister Ella Marie Faulk; Brothers: Charles Archie and Vernon Forry; his children and their spouses: Penny (Rick) Gardner, Steve (Dawn) Forry, and Lisa (John) Robinson; his grandchildren and their spouses: Tysen (Cara) Gardner, Skyler (Caroline) Gardner, and Justyn Gardner; Lauren, Morgan and Taylar Forry; Kyle, Kathy, and Ian Robinson.
Many nieces and nephews who were very close to him and they often referred to him as the Godfather of the Forry’s.
Plus the countless friends he made everywhere he went and his precious classmates.
Celebration of life to be held Friday, May 22nd at the Living Room Church at 10 a.m.
Then a military burial in Superior, Montana on Saturday, May 30th where he’ll be with his father overlooking the beautiful mountains of Superior, Montana.
Lew Forry left a legacy that all can live by… Family, Friends, and Fun. Enjoy life. Lewis Forry will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
