The Thompson Falls Lady Hawks faced off against Big Fork in their first game of the season losing 1-3.

Keeping the score fairly close in the first game of the match, Big Fork won 25-18. In the second game Big Fork won again, 25-16. This did not seem to dishearten Thompson Falls as they stepped up and won game three, 25-20. However, they couldn’t push Big Fork into a tie game and ended up losing the fourth game, 11-25.

With some new players this season, head coach Sandra Kazmierczak said it is going to take a lot for the team to get comfortable on the court.

“We need to find rhythm and roles for the players,” said Kazmierczak.

Kazmierczak added that their conference is in a pretty strong district and the big challenge is getting the returning players who have a lot of continuity comfortable with the new faces.

Kyla Molzhon led the team with nine kills, four aces and 17 digs. Hannah Peters had five kills and one block. Jessica Wadsworth had five kills and one block, Hope Reid had two kills, one ace and 1 block, Allison Vaught had two kills and one ace and Karli Cavill rounded out the game with two kills, one block, two aces and 22 set-assists.

The Lady Hawks next game is set for Thursday September 10 against Mission Tourney.
