Plains man graduates from Marine Corps

Private First Class Tyler Lee Welty, 18 years old, of Plains graduated from the United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on September 11, 2009. Private First Class Tyler Lee Welty successfully completed 13 weeks of basic intensive training at MCRD San Diego as one of 74 training recruits in platoon 3249. While in basic training Tyler Lee Welty was made platoon doctor. Following 30 days on leave and serving as Recruit Assistance he will return to Camp Pendleton for two months of Infantry Training Battalion then Military Occupation Specialty school.
