What does the Obama-Baucus-Tester socialized-medicine scheme tell you?

It should tell you that the administration’s priorities, and those of the Montana senatorial delegation, are seriously messed up.

Look what happened last week. Another 550,000 people lost their jobs. By the time you read this, an additional half-million are expected to be unemployed.

The total number of people receiving unemployment benefits is over six million, according to the official numbers. That’s down a little bit-

because folks who have been jobless so long that they no longer receive unemployment checks aren’t counted in the official numbers.

Does that remotely make sense to you? If you’ve been jobless for so long that you don’t get an unemployment check, you’re no longer counted as part of the six-million-plus unemployed under Obamanomics, according to the government. Why can’t we the people get an honest count? Why won’t the government admit that real under- and unemployment is pushing past 20%?

That’s the same government that wants to ration medical care for the elderly. Are you OK with that? Are you OK with real unemployment pushing Great Depression levels while Obama and his henchmen Max Baucus and Jon Tester attempt to socialize medicine in America? Are you OK with their latest scheme: forcing all Americans to have health insurance, whether they want it or not? Or is that just too much government

intervention in your private life? Are you wondering why the Senators aren’t more worried about unemployed Montanans than about some Beltway weatlh-redistribution plan?

And are you OK with Obama-Baucus-Tester and their plans to crank the federal deficit beyond anything we will ever repay in our lifetimes?

Are you personally OK with strapping a huge bill on your kids and grandkids? Are you ready to sacrifice the financial future of your kids and grandkids on the altar of Obama’s liberal pie-in-the-sky?

Do you remember when America led the world in something called ‘manufacturing’? When places called ‘factories’ would employ men and women at something called ‘family-wage jobs’? Those guys who used to work at the Plum Creek mill in Pablo knew about manufacturing. They went to work each day and created lumber products that had commercial value and could be put to productive use. Past tense. Those jobs are gone forever and those poor guys are part of the six-million-plus unemployed, at least until their benefits run out. Then they won’t count any more. At least not to the government. They’ll count in their homes and in their communities. They’ll count in the foreclosure numbers as they begin to lose their homes. They’ll count in the school levy elections when they vote ‘no’, not because the unemployed millworkers don’t support education but because they simply cannot afford to pay the taxes.

What does American stand for under Obama economics? What do we manufacture? Tattoos, lattes, and government bailouts that we fund by peddling bonds to the Chinese. Every dime in new government spending goes against manufacturing and against private business. No matter how the First Orator spins it, socialized medicine means a greater burden on private business. America needs real jobs, not government make-work one-year ‘stimulus’ employment created by deficit spending.

Maybe you’re OK with trillion-dollar unsustainable deficits. I’m not. Maddened, out-of-control spending by Obama and his ideological slaves mortgages this country for short-term political gain. How much to you want to bet that whatever tax increase Baucus cooks up doesn’t go into effect until after his master goes through the 2012 election? Tester won by 3,562 votes running against a scandal-tained incumbent. Want to bet Baucus doesn’t risk that ultra-slim margin by putting the new taxes necessary for socialized medicine into effect prior to the next Senatorial vote? If Obama’s socialized medicine is so wonderful, let’s start paying for it now. Right away. That’s the honest, up-front way to handle it. Let’s watch how Baucus plays it out.

If I were a Democrat running for office in Montana - any office - I’d be terrified at what Obama and his lackeys are shoving down the national throat. No one can vote against Obama, Baucus or Tester in 2010. They can, and will, vote against a Democrat running for dogcatcher simply to protest socialized medicine, crushing unemployment and country-crippling deficits. Qualified men and women will lose their local-level offices as a result, and that’s unfortunate.

Not as unfortunate as the choices being made in Washington by Max Baucus and Jon Tester, who are ignoring the plight of the jobless and the threat of looming deficits as they walk in lockstep with Obama and his socialized-medicine scheme.
