It was a tough road last week for the Trotters softball team as they traveled west to Thompson Falls to take on one of the best pitchers in the state, Ladyhawk Kyla Molzhon.

It was Molzhon who got better of the matchup as she was nearly unhittable. Last year, Plains Coach Larry Revinius says the Trotters were able to hit Molzhon, but this year it took a solid single by Gina Morigeau in the fourth to break up Molzhon's no hitter.

"They've got a senior pitcher," says Coach Revinius. "She's an all-state pitcher."

It was a struggle also for the team to quiet Thompson Fall's bats as they gave up 17 runs in the game. The pitchers for Plains were able to keep the Ladyhawks from gathering hits in the game, but gave up walks that led to scores for the speedy Thompson Falls players. A comebacker hit also starting pitcher Aspen Rude in the fifth inning that made her leave the game. However, Coach Revinius says Rude the injury will not affect her in upcoming games.

This week the team will play a doubleheader against Eureka. Eureka is a team that Coach Revinius expects that they will match up well against. The games will kick off on Saturday, while the Trotters will look to continue to improve during the week.

"I want our kids to get better and they're working hard," says Coach Revinius.
