The Alberton track team once again found themselves out of a meet on Tuesday. The Panthers were supposed to be back at the Dornblazer track in Missoula for the Loyola Relays, but weather complicated matters and the meet ended up being called off. This was the second meet to be cancelled that was on the Panther's schedule.

Back on April 8, the Panthers had traveled up to the Florence Invitational at Corvallis. Coach Rachel Clevenger explained that they started to compete, but as events got underway it became obvious the weather wasn't going to hold out.

"We started competing when it ended up getting cancelled," she said of the April 8 meet. "We were in the middle of some events, but none actually got finished to the point that they could be scored."

Neither of these meets has been rescheduled.

At the TNT Invitational at Frenchtown last Saturday, the team struggled to be up with the competition. Clevenger said that while times had improved overall, they fell short to find themselves in the placings.

The Panthers are hoping that things will pan out this weekend as they head up to the Big Sky track for the Seeley Invitational this Saturday, April 24 scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. They are hoping they can speed up times as they continue to better themselves to be in the competition.

The Panthers will have a meet on May 1 in Superior, the only in-county meet that will be the closest to home.
