The powerhouse tennis girls in Superior were supposed to have a home meet on Saturday, but ended up driving up to play Darby at Darby. After having a huge opening weekend April 9 and 10, the girls were looking to once again prove dominant on the court and they did.

The Bobcats ended up outplaying the Darby girls six to one on April 17.

In singles play, Cary Chamberlain defeated her opponent Bara Schutoba 6-3 in the first match and then did it again in the second match, beating her 6-3 also. Michele Reinelt found success in singles play, defeating Latisha Mith 6-4 in the first match and 6-3 in the second match.

Myranda Kuhl didn't give her opponent the chance and ended up shutting down Darby's Cassidy Hartness 6-0 and 6-1. Kiana Cox had a rough set against Darby's Hayley Finks. Cox beat Finks in the first match by 4-6, but found herself struggling in the last two matches. Finks overpowered her 6-2 and 6-3, winning in the end.

In doubles play, Kaylee Crabb and Sarah Wuebkes crushed Darby pair Courage Loubiere and Brianna Massey. The Superior girls won 6-0 in the first match and secured their victory with a 6-2 in the second match.

Chanel Elliot and Alychia Scofield stood strong against their opponents and beat out Darby's Brittani Muir and Raeghan Johnson. They went 6-2 in the first match and went for 6-0 in the second match to win the set. Caitlin Coleman and Hillary Stevens won against Meagen Brown and Olivia McCormack by just a couple of points in the first match of the set, 6-4. But playing in the second match the pair didn't let up and took home the set win by beating their Darby opponents 6-1 in the second match.

The Superior girls played Mission on Tuesday and have two scheduled matches for the coming weekend. They will play Eureka on Friday at Eureka starting at 1 p.m. On Saturday, April 24, the girls are traveling over to Missoula to play Loyola and Conrad at 10 a.m. The girls have won every match they've gone to so far and are hoping to once again find victory in Missoula.

Coach Rick Berreth said that they team has always been very competitive and this year, they are out to bring themselves home a conference win as it's been something that hasn't been done in awhile. With the way things are headed, it looks like the girls might not have any trouble, but the season still has a lot of tennis left to play.
