The Plains Trotters showed a lot of fight this weekend going extra innings in two games. However, the Trotters fighting through sickness and minor injuries couldn't hold on to finish those games off against Drummon on Saturday and against Deer Lodge on Tuesday. However, in a normal paced game on Thursday the Trotters were able to beat Troy 4-3 behind a complete game from Karlena Heward who struck out seven in the contest. Heward also led the team with the bat as she collected a pair of doubles in a 2 RBI effort in the game.

The heavy scheduled week showed off a result of the low numbers of the team. With only 10 players on the roster, the first game in each of these double headers was much closer with two going extra innings and one resulting in a Plains' win than the second games, which resulted in losses that weren't close.

Coach Larry Revinius says it's hard in that second game when the opposition can sub out a lot of their players and his team has no chance to rest. However, in the next two weeks the Trotters won't have that problem as they have only a single game each week. Despite the tough schedule this week Coach Revinius is still proud of his team and their resilience.

"I was really impressed by how hard they worked despite being sick and hurt," said Revinius of Saturday's effort. "They're a team. They play together. They don't fight amongst each other...no one gets down."

On Friday, they will be traveling to St. Ignatius to take on the Bulldogs.
