The Bobcat wrestlers traveled up to Ronan for the Ronan Duels this past weekend and all but one of the boys tasted success. Freshman River Sides, wrestling at 105 pounds, won two of his five matches, pinning his opponents both times. He beat out Dillion Edwards from Mission and Marcus Malone from Corvallis. He lost to his opponent from Darby by pin and lost by decision to wrestlers from Plains and Polson.

Senior Mason Chatterley, wrestling at 125 pounds, won by tech fall against Scotty Gilleard from Mission, scoring 18 points against Gilleard’s 3. The senior wrestler also won by tech fall against Kyle Leudece from Corvallis, scoring 15 points to Leudece’s 0. Finally, he prevailed against Chandler Yount from Deer Lodge pinning him with 35 seconds left on the clock. Fellow senior, Garrett Stephens won three of his four matches at 135 pounds and did so within seconds. He pinned K. Koldorson from Corvallis with 3:40 on the clock and also pinned Michale Majors with 3:20 on the clock. He also pinned Plains wrestler Cole Goodwin with 1:52 remaining.

Sophomore Spud Crabb, wrestling at 189 pounds, won three of his five matches, all by pins. He beat Jim Henderson from Corvallis with 3:30 left on the clock and Roy Stidham from Deer Lodge with 50 seconds left on the clock. He managed to also pin Marlin Burke from Polson with just 30 seconds left. Dan Taron pinned two of his opponents, Kevin Fogel from Corvallis and Beau Bernhardt from Deer Lodge.

Finally Sammy Wright pinned one of his opponents, Zoe Barovich from Plains, at 125 pounds in the Junior-Varsity division. Tyler Wharry wrestled four times, but lost by pin in each match.

Overall, it was a pretty successful weekend for the Bobcat wrestlers. This weekend, on Friday and Saturday, they will travel to the RMC Tourney in Missoula.
