Sanders County Arts Council presents Dolce Canto

| January 27, 2010 12:00 AM

“Dolce Canto” a musical direction that tells the artists how their interpretation of the musical score is to be rendered, in a word, “sweetly.” This may also be translated in use as to be sung or played with sensibility.

Thus comes the name of the musical group to perform in Plains on Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2010 at the Plains United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m.

Dolce Canto is Missoula’s own premier choral group; about 30 members chosen from what may be the best voices in the community. Dolce Canto will present a varied program of classical, traditional and arrangements of popular music favorites.

Come and share this musical afternoon, and enjoy one of the best Montana has to offer.

Included among this favored group is a familiar face and name to Plains and Hot Springs music lovers; our own Rhanda Johnson is a member of

Dolce Canto, and those who have heard her sing will agree that her performances are indeed sweetly sung. Rhanda was a resident of Plains for some time before moving on to Missoula. It will be a pleasure to welcome her back for this performance.

The place is Plains United Methodist Church at Meany and Walnut Streets, the date is Sunday, January 31 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $6.00 each and seating is limited. Tickets are available at the Plains ticket outlets: First Security Bank, Garden, Gift and Floral, and Honeysuckle Natural Foods. In Thompson Falls, tickets can be purchased at First Security Bank.
