A week of exciting, fun activities is at hand for the community of Superior. Several activities including a kids' camp, nightly barbecue, a pig roast and a special musical presentation have been planned for the week of August 1 through August 5. Superior Community Church along with a team of youth and their leaders of Christ Church of Federal Way will be presenting these events and working throughout the week to bless the local community.

Each night at 5:30 p.m., beginning on Sunday August 1 and running through Wednesday August 4, the members will prepare and provide a free barbecue with inflatables, puppet shows and raffles. The evening events will continue Wednesday with the annual pig roast and a special 7:30 p.m. appearance by Andy "C-Lite" Mineo, minister and rapper, www.siniswack.com.

During the day, children ages preschool up to 6th grade are eagerly invited to take part in the fun and adventure at Son Rock Kids Camp at Superior Community Church at 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2 to Thursday, Aug. 5. The team has some exciting things planned.

These two churches and their members have joined together in service for over a decade on numerous projects (e.g., refurbishing roofs, painting the hospital, building a park structure, and others) and will joyfully continue their service this coming week.

Steve Tow, from the Superior Community Church, said that year will be no different. He said that around 13 adults and 32 students are planning to come and stay in Superior and will be putting their efforts into a "massive service" campaign.

As in past years, these servants will be completing planned projects as well as the usual cutting and delivery of firewood to those who need assistance.

The team would like to shout out a special thanks to Angelo Veveris and Tricon Timber for their continued help in acquiring the needed timber and to Darrin Ippisch, who helped to deliver the wood.

"They always come through with wood," said Tow. "It's amazing that they continue to provide it."

Tow said that the group is looking forward to helping out where needed. Tow said that Superior Community Church was the first church that they coordinated with before expanding also to Plains and Deer Lodge.
