2010 Primary Results for Mineral County

On Tuesday, the voters said no to the 25-mill increase on the public safety levy with a 55-45 percent margin. The overall vote was 651 against to 525.

In the sheriff's race, republican candidate Ernie Ornelas won the primary against opponent Mike Johnson and will face Democrat Tim Vulles in the general election in Nov. Ornelas won with 715 votes. Johnson only recieved 155.

In the race for Justice of the Peace, Wanda James and Muriah Alexander  move on to the general election in November. The vote margin between the two were substantial. James had 637 votes, while Alexander recieved 260.

As for the hospital levy, voters decided to continue the six-mill levy voting 737-468.

Republican Denny Rehberg and Democrat Dennis McDonald will be on the ballot in Nov. to compete for Montana's Congressional seat.
