Shirley Darlene Cave, 71 of Bremerton, died in Tacoma on March 13, 2010. She was born December 13, 1938 in Brainerd, MN to Eino & Dorothy (Steele) Kangas. She married John Ira Cave on November 27, 1954 in Plains, Montana. Shirley graduated from Plain HS in 1955 and attended Olympic College in Bremerton.

Shirley Darlene Cave, 71 of Bremerton, died in Tacoma on March 13, 2010. She was born December 13, 1938 in Brainerd, MN to Eino & Dorothy (Steele) Kangas. She married John Ira Cave on November 27, 1954 in Plains, Montana. Shirley graduated from Plain HS in 1955 and attended Olympic College in Bremerton.

Shirley retired as an Administrative Assistant with Olympic College. She was an accomplished pianist and loved to garden, sew and take care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her many cats and dogs. She cared for all and fed anyone who was hungry. She also loved to cook and put together care packages. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bremerton.

Surviving are husband John; son John Michael (Wendy Lynn) Cave of Bremerton; daughters (Jackie (Fred) Sires of Seabeck and Norma (Jeff) West of Port Orchard; brother Rod (Claudette) Barber of Missoula, MT; sister Rene (Jack) Barber-Lewis of Kapolei, HI; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Robert Martin Cave, grandson Zachary West & great-grandson Layne Henrickson.

Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Bremerton. Memorial donations to Central Kitsap Food Bank or Kitsap Humane Society. Online memorial at www.rill.com
