Assembly of God to perform The Promise
With his daughter sick, Jairus goes to find Jesus in one of the drama's scene's. Mike Neal wrote and directed the performance. The performance will run Friday, April 2 at 6:30 and Sunday, April 4 at 6:30. Both are at the Superior Assembly of God.

Running through the play twice over the course of three hours on Thursday night, director Mike Neal was looking to correct any mistakes, fine tune the stage performance and work out any costume changing mishaps, all in preparation to present the production to the community.
The drama presentation is scheduled for April 2 at 6:30 p.m. on Good Friday and on April 4 at 6:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Both performances will take place at the Superior Assembly of God located at 502 Second Ave. E. in Superior.
The promise refers to that of Jesus and His resurrection power. Neal, who wrote the program, said that he's excited to see the program coming together. The presentation shows snippets of Jesus' life including the miracles he performed, bringing hope into people's lives, and ultimately, leading up to his crucifixion and resurrection. The story is told through narration, acting and features several different musical numbers as well that Neal believes "swells" with everything they've been doing.
"I think that if you've never seen anything like this before and I'm sure there are a lot of people that haven't, I think it will be something that will move your heart like never before and be something you won't forget as long as you live," he said. "So many people are out of work, financially broke and they need someone to say ‘Here am I, follow me and I'll show you the way,' and I think this is what this program does. It shows people in hopeless states, like the blind man, he'd been blind all his life didn't have any hope until Jesus came along and touched him and then he could see things that he could never imagine."
Neil said that the members of the church have had a great time putting the performance together and would like to extend an invitation to everyone in the community and county to come out.
"My heartbeat for this community and for this church is that we do everything we can to lead people to Jesus. It's not about us. It's about them. There are a lot of people here that are lost and we just want to reach out to them, no matter who they are, we are extending out hand to them saying ‘Here we are if we can be of any help in anyway, here we are.'"
