Senior boys place at Archie Roe

The Thompson Falls senior boys excelled on the track on Sunday and it was the freshmen girls who excelled on Thursday at the County Meet.

The Thompson Falls senior boys excelled on the track on Sunday and it was the freshmen girls who excelled on Thursday at the County Meet.

At Noxon, Hope Reid won the maximum number of events (five) leading her team to a second place finish. She won both the hurdle races and the short races along with winning the high jump to finish the day with 50 points.

Fellow freshman Allison Vaught also won an event by coming through in the discus with a throw of 102-3 1/2.

On Saturday, at a highly competitive Archie Roe Meet in Kalispell, senior Will Dalby once again came through for his team continuing a torrid streak of first place finishes in the javelin. He threw 188-8 for a first place finish over such schools as Whitefish, the Kalispell schools and the Missoula schools.

Charlie Knapp also had a nice day. After recently trying out the 400, Knapp has found a large amount of success. He won the event at the County Meet in Noxon and placed second in Kalispell with a time of 51.31. He also placed third in the long jump by leaping 20-6 1/2.

The final placer for Thompson Falls was Mike Wood who had a big day in the discus with a throw of 147-1 that landed him fourth place in the event.
