Four Tiger golfers from St. Regis headed up to the state tournament this week. Thomas Spencer, Zane Worrall, Shelby Berg and Jocelyn Dockter played at Ennis yesterday, Tuesday, May 18 and are playing today Wednesday, May 19.

Coach Dan Park said they spent the week practicing everything from a golfer's short game, working in the sand, swings and ultimately smoothing out mistakes.

"You can fix a problem and four swings later you're making a mistake and you don't even know it," Park said last week. "We're going to work on everything."

Prior to the competition, Park said that he suspected all four should play well. And while Park was hoping he might qualify four girls and four boys at the beginning of the season that didn't happen and so there won't be enough of either to make up teams.

Both Worrall and Dockter have competed at state last year. To qualify for state, girls had to swing better than a 120 and boys had to swing a 100 or better. Spencer qualified last weekend. Worrall, Dockter and Berg have been pretty consistent throughout the season placing in the top ten individuals as at a few different meets.

Next week's paper will have the results of the golfers efforts at the state tournament.
