Memorial Day ceremonies are set for Monday, May 31 at 11 a.m. in Superior. Members of the Lloyd Riding Post 6238 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and any other veterans who want to take part, will fall in at 10:45 a.m. at the Masonic Temple on River Street.

They will then march to the bridge spanning the Clark Fork River, according to Post Commander H.F. Berneking, where a prayer will be offered for the departed comrades and a biodegradable wreath will be dropped in the river. He also said that the wreath was prepared by the post's auxiliary members.

The wreath placement will be followed by veterans firing three volleys and Taps will be played.

The veterans will then advance to the Superior Cemetery where the flag will be flying at half-staff.

A short service and prayer will be offered and a volley will again be fired followed by the sound of Taps. The flag will then be raised to full staff.

Any veteran wanting to participate may join the veterans at the Masonic Temple on River Street in Superior at 10 a.m. At approximately 12:15 p.m. a volley and Taps will be performed at the Quartz Cemetery.
