John E. Miller "Pappa John"

John E. Miller, 83, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 in Powell, Wyo.

John was born on March 16, 1927 in Kimberly, Idaho. He was the son of Harlan and Nellie Miller. He married Mary Joan Christy in Yale, Okla. Oct. 24, 1948.

John and his wife were lifelong farmers. He loved the land and what he did for a living. They retired to Plains, Mont. in 1992. “Papa John,” as he was known by the students, spent two years working at the Paradise Grade School, providing extra help for children who needed the attention. He thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with the kids.

John is survived by his wife, Joan, of 61 years, his daughter, Glenda Cahoon, and her husband Wells, of Powell, Wyo.; daughter Rosaleta Rossback of Jerome, Idaho, and daughter Sandra Gardner of Kuna, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ivan Miller. At the request of the family, no service will be held.
