A semitrailer flipped over on its side Monday while traveling down Interstate 90. The accident happened at around 3:49 p.m. at mile marker 68.

Darlene Lee, of the Montana Highway Patrol, said the semitrailer drifted off to the left of the roadway. The driver, a 49-year-old male from Illinois, was behind the wheel and “possibly fell asleep,” according to Lee.

“It’s still under investigation,” Lee said, “but the vehicle traveled a fair distance off to the left of the roadway before flipping over on its side.”

Lee said that they are not sure of the exact time of the accident, but noted the call came into patrol at 3:49 p.m. Lee said that the injuries were very minor to the driver. She said that it was fortunate that no other vehicles were involved in the accident and that there were no serious injuries to the driver.

The name of the individual was not being released at the time of press as details into the exact cause were still being investigated.
