Allestad graduates from basic training

Army Pvt. Cody Allestad graduated form basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri on August 19. 

Thursday’s graduation marked the end of nine weeks of training, wherein Pvt. Allestad studied the Army tradition, history, mission, and values, and was instructed in and practiced basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, marksmanship, field tactics, and basic first aid.  He also underwent training in Army ceremony, military justice, and military courtesy.

Pvt. Allestad is the son of Shanon Hedahl of Plains, and Andrew Allestad of Missoula.

Allestad graduated from Plains High School in 2009.
