Support of Candidate

When I first heard that Ron Olfert was going to run as an Independent, my first comment to one of his supporters was that I would have advised him not to run as a “spoiler.” In other words, I was thinking that his political future could be put in jeopardy if his write-in votes as an independent were to cause the so-called “nominated” Republican to lose to the Democrat; that Republicans would remember that as a betrayal and never support him in any future races.

And then, it was learned that Democrats did what they do best (dirty tricks), and because there was only one democrat running in the primary for the office of county commissioner, they almost in force crossed over and voted for the Republican that was either leaning their way or easier to beat in the main election.  You know… kind of what the media did to us when they in fact paved the way for the nomination of a liberal McCain to run against their only real choice, the talented and experienced “get out the black vote organizer.”

The fact is that the conservative Independents and  Republicans were robbed of choosing who they believed would make the best county commissioner.

And so now, I take back what I had said to Ron Olfert’s supporter. I say run, Ron, run and good luck.

Ron Olfert not only is the best choice for County Commissioner, he is the only choice, if you desire to change things the way that they have been handled in this, the most powerful local office in any state.

Ron has consistently been trying to educate the Sanders county commissioners on how they have been making ignorant decisions that have cost thousands of lumber jobs in our county, because they were not using the tools that were available to them for the past thirty or forty years.  He has tried not to step on any toes.  He has tried to show them gently and with persuasion and with good hard facts.  It has been a futile five to six year waste of time.

When Ron showed them how to do it right, they have consistently ignored him, worked against him or cooperated with the Sierra Club and other organizations that want to take our forests away from us and turn this valley into a green belt.  I might add that eventually “they” will not afford a man or woman to make a living in any profession except  is with a government or government controlled industry.

Ron Olfert is not a gifted public speaker, but he has never lied and he has the facts to back up the claims that we never had to lose one lumber job in our county.  The county commissioners have the authority to block that from happening and they either never read the regulations available to them, or they chose to partner up with the Green Movement.  Either way, they certainly did not represent our county’s best interests.

Ron Olfert has the facts to back this up.  He is one of the most intelligent men I have ever met as regards the end results of bringing back lumber jobs, mining jobs and our forest usage by citizens of Sanders County.

Well, has green been good for us?  Where have the thousands of good paying lumber jobs gone?  Where have all of the mining jobs gone?  With all of the improvements made in mining in safety and protection of forests and streams, why have the “Greenies” continued to thwart the creation of jobs in these industries?  Why do our taxes support things that cause us to lose even more jobs?  Why does the federal government own and control our forests?  Have any of you read what the state and federal Constitution says regarding this?

I for one will take the time to write in Ron Olfert’s name as County Commissioner for Sanders County.  It is the one and only; the most important vote that I can make at this critical time in the history of this county.  I suggest that you do the same!  I suggest that you practice writing his name for county commissioner, so that there are no mistakes or thrown out ballots.  It is Ron Olfert.
