Two candidates for governor are going to be in attendance at the 4th Annual Lincoln-Reagan Dinner this year, which will be held on Saturday, April 30 in Alberton.

Rick Hill and Neil Livingston, as of this date, are planning to attend according to Bob Mahon, from the Mineral County Republican Central Committee.

“I think it’s great,” Mahon said, of the two candidates who will be coming. He noted that they might also have Ken Miller, or his wife, may also be in attendance. “We’re competing with Flathead County the same day and it’s great to be able to have two out of five for sure.”

Mahon said that having these men at the dinner will give voters a chance to get to know the candidates. He said that an awful lot of people know about Hill as he’s been a congressman where as Neil Livingston is a new face.

The dinner will also feature keynote speaker Gary Carlson. Carlson served as a marine and was a former President Reagan administration political appointee.

Mahon said that the dinner began about four years ago and has always had a large turnout of people. They started with about 110 people at the first dinner and had about 130 last year. The committee itself has only been around for about six years.

Mahon noted that this dinner will serve as a fundraiser for the committee as well. He said that they’ve held the dinner at the Rock N Rodeo in the past and are really “stepping it up” this year.

The event will be held at the River Edge in Alberton, beginning at 6 p.m., with the social hour. A prime rib dinner will be served at 7 p.m. A silent auction will also take place.
