| April 6, 2011 10:18 AM

Jeffery Lakel 27, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Plains, MT.

Jeff was born on April 15, 1983 in Billings, MT to James Lakel and Diana Bache. He grew up in Laurel, MT until his Junior year where he completed High School in Plains, MT.

At the time of his death he was working and staying at his grandparent ranch in Plains which he loved doing since he was a young boy. Jeff also worked various jobs from logging to road construction with a tremendous talent for operating heavy equipment, a trade he learned from “Gramps.”

Jeff  loved doing anything outdoors from swimming and diving to fishing the Clark Fork River in which he found great peace. In his younger years he enjoyed and excelled in football, baseball and wrestling.

No matter what the battle was you could always rely on Lake having your back. He was such a special person to so many people who knew and loved him. Jeff’s pranks, wit and great sense of humor will be sorely missed by us all.

His greatest achievement in his short life by far was his daughter “Madi” who was definately the love of his life, he was an awesome father to his daughter and she loves her daddy so very much.

Jeffrey is preceeded in death by his grandparents Lawrence & Alice Lakel. Survivors include his daughter, Madison Lakel of Lake Stevens, WA; father and best friend James Lakel of Billings; mother, Diana Arthur of Plains; sister Jennifer Lakel; nieces Samantha and Cadance all of Bozeman; grandparents Lloyd and Virginia Bache of Plains; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services for Jeff will be held Saturday, April 2nd at 2 p.m. at the First Church of God in Plains with a reception immediately following. All friends and family please join us to remember Jeff’s life.
