The Lady Hawks are still looking for their first win of the season after two games. In fact, Thompson Falls has yet to score a run in the 2011 season.

It’s been a rough start for the defending Western B-C Softball champoins as last Tuesday, St. Ignatius wasted no time in jumping out to an early lead over the Lady Hawks. The Lady Bulldogs would go on to win 28-0 in a Western B-C romp which as called after five innings due to the 10-run margin rule.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-0 while Thompson Falls fell to 0-2.

Mission’s 13 hit parade was led by Kinley Pope and Janeal McDonald. Pope finished 3 of 6 and McDonald 1 of 5 with a home run. Each tallied five RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Taylor Bolster, Acacia Eaton and Kayla Stark each earned singles for the Lady Hawks.

Kyla Olson earned her second win of the year by limiting Thompson Falls to only three hits.

Brittany Bray was credited with her second loss of the season. Bray struck out six and walked two in the contest. Bray got little help from her defensive unit which collected 10 errors in the contest.

Thompson Falls will go on the road Tuesday as they hope their fortunes will improve against County rival Plains-Hot Springs.

Like the Lady Hawks, the Trotters will be hoping for their first win on Tuesday.
