The Savage Heat halted their season long, six game losing streak by defeating St. Regis, 50-32 on Saturday. The long awaited victory came after a loss the previous day to Charlo, 20-40. Hot Springs is now 2-4 conf., 2-11 ovr.

On Friday, Charlo’s ball control offense combined with their gritty defense held the Savage Heat to just three first-half points. The Vikings would score 17 over that same span and head into the locker room with a 14-point advantage.

The Savage Heat emerged a different team in the second half, nearly holding even with the Vikings 10-11 in the third, and 7-12 in the fourth quarters on their way to the District 14-C loss.

Jordan Ludeman and Kinley Pope scored in double-digits as Charlo (6-0, 11-1) kept it’s perfect conference mark spotless. Ludeman scored 13 and Pope 10 in the win.

For Hot Springs, Alyssa Foster tallied 10 points, Meghan Massingale seven, Hannah Retalick two and Lindsey Salmi one.

For the second time this season, the Savage Heat defeated the Lady Tigers in another conference battle. St. Regis remains the only team to lose to Hot Springs this year.

Massingale’s 12 points and 10 rebounds earned her a double-double to lead Hot Springs. Hannah Retalick and Alyssa Foster also scored 12 points apiece for the Savage Heat.

Arianna Jones scored a game-high 18 points for St. Regis (0-6, 1-12)

This week, Hot Springs will travel to Noxon on Thursday for another District 14-C showdown. The Lady Devils defeat Hot Springs 41-19 and 56-38 in two previous games this season.
