Support TRACS
TRACS is participating in a state-wide shelter challenge that, if they win, means they will receive $1000 much needed dollars. Currently, they are in second place, second to Roundup, MT. Roundup, MT?! How is it that Roundup, with 6 sheltered animals at the moment, is beating us? TRACS needs a vote “surge” and here’s how you can help provide it.
Go to www.pet-tracs.com. When the screen comes up, click on the Shelter Challenge decal mid-screen. On the voting screen, type in Thompson River Animal Care Shelter. You can also type in Thompson Falls, MT in another block. Put this on your favorites bar, as it will come up in succeeding days with TRACS already in the space, ready for your vote. Click on “vote”. Identify the animal pictured on the next screen that comes up to confirm your vote. And that’s it! While there, check out the pictures of the dogs and cats awaiting someone to fall in love with, and to fall in love with them.
TRACS needs us to vote daily until March 11th, when the challenge ends. The votes are cumulative. You can vote once per day on each computer you
have access to. The money will be used to purchase much needed food for the animals, and for veterinarian expenses. Vet expenses are the largest budget item for TRACS, exceeding $20,000 annually.
When times are tough for everyone, donations to animal shelters decrease making winning shelter challenges all the more important. TRACS has been an invaluable asset to our communities and our county. They have taken in and sheltered 1,470 animals since opening four years ago. They currently have 65 animals at the shelter available for adoption. Besides finding loving homes for displaced and homeless animals, they ensure needed medical care is provided so no animal suffers needlessly while in their care. TRACS keeps and provides care for all animals until adopted.
Voting in the shelter challenge is an easy opportunity to assist TRACS in their mission. Please vote daily.
