Lady Hawks lose to Lady Devils

The Lady Devils and Lady Hawks were two teams heading in different directions last weekend as Noxon knocked off Thompson Falls 62-43 on Thursday. The Lady Devils have now won four straight while Thompson Falls is on a four-game losing streak.

Noxon was led by Cara Stettler who connected on 10 of her 14 free throws on her way to scoring 28 points to lead the District 14-C Lady Devils over their county rivals.

Kim Marich added 13 points, Jordyn Wilkinson nine, Alana Dettwiler six, Shay Lloyd four and Acacia Eaton two in the cross-class win.

Sophomore forward Hope Reid led the hosting Lady Hawks with 16 points. Kelsey Fitchet chipped in eight points, Mara Hanks six, Allison Vaught five, Makayla Becker four, Leann Lantz two and Kaylie Cox and Shasta Wilson one each.

The following day, Noxon continued their winnings ways by topping St. Regis for the second time this season, 38-25.

Marich scored 19 pints to lead Noxon in the district win. Wilkinson chipped in six points and Stettler, Eaton and Alana Dettwiler one each.

Gabby Moeller and Juliana Spencer each scored nine points for the Tigers (0-7, 2-13).

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, Noxon (4-2 conf., 11-3 ovr.)  is in second place behind Charlo (7-0, 13-2) and in ahead of Arlee (3-4, 4-11).

In their final two games before districts, Noxon will host Hot Springs for their senior night on Thursday, before heading to Arlee on Friday.

Also on Saturday, Thompson Falls traveled to Charlo where they scored a season low 17 points on their way to falling, 17-45 to the Vikings in a non-district tilt.

The Vikings came out ready to play after a loss on Thursday, outscoring the Ladyhawks 27-4 in the opening half.

Hope Reid led Thompson Falls for the second straight game, scoring eight points in the loss. Vaught chipped in five points, Lantz two and Cox and Fitchett one each.

Deondra Brown and Rachel Hoyt each scored a dozen points for the 13-2 Vikings.

Thompson Falls (4-4, 5-11) now sits tied with Plains for third place. The Ladyhawks will travelt o Plains on Friday before hosting St. Ignatius on their senior night on Saturday during their regular season finale.
