Donald Allan Sheppard

Don Sheppard, 83, of Plains, MT, on January 22, 2011, returned to his heavenly music while at home with family.  Born in Oakland, CA, Don began piano at age four and pursued music as a classical pianist throughout his early lifetime, winning every music composition contest he entered in college.

Don joined the U.S. Navy and as an aviation machinist and kept our Navy flying during World War II. Don also worked for RCA, flying Tiger Lines and Lockeed Aircraft Corporation in CA.  With his mechanical and electronic skills he designed heartpacers and “leads” for Cordis Corporation, in Miami, FL and shares a U.S. Patent (telemetry) with two close friends.  Don later managed a medical instrument department for another dear friend at Biosearch (Hydromer) in New Jersey. 

Don is survived by his wife, Elaine Sheppard and step-grandsons, David Damschen, Daniel Damshen and Douglas Damshen, all of Plains, M, step-son R. Gary Baker of NC, step-daughter Rhonda Damschen, M.D.  Possible survivors (by previous marriage) are Bruce, Mark (predeceased) Donald J. Sheppard, Norman Sheppard, and grandson Donald J. Sheppard Jr.

Private memorials for the celebration of Don’s life are being planned.
